Zolderse Dakprojecten relies on certainty on the construction site.

TVH Equipment always delivers reliably. When we need a machine, we can count on them quickly.

At Zolderse Dakprojecten, efficiency is not a buzzword but a daily practice. The specialised roofing company supports both new-build and renovation projects from analysis and planning through to execution and delivery: from pitched roofs to flat roofs. With 35 years of experience, 135 colleagues and more than 1,000,000 m² of roofing installed each year, the team is known for its craftsmanship and personal service.

“We handle everything from A to Z,” says site manager Razvan Belean, who started out as a labourer and has been coordinating multiple construction sites for 1.5 years now. Every day, he travels from project to project to oversee execution, ensure safety and make sure each team can work efficiently.

When it comes to machines such as telehandlers and aerial work platforms, three criteria are decisive: reliability, fast delivery and good service. Razvan is clear about this: “On a construction site, everything needs to run smoothly. If something is missing or goes wrong, you lose valuable time. That’s something we simply can’t afford.” That’s why Zolderse Dakprojecten has been working with TVH Equipment for years. “TVH Equipment always delivers reliably. When we need a machine, we can count on them quickly. I call Ruud and he takes care of it, even last minute. That’s just top-notch.”

Orders are usually placed by phone or email, with the project manager and accounting department in cc so that everyone stays informed. The MyTVHEquipment platform is used occasionally, but “direct communication works fastest for us.”

For roofing projects, material transport is a crucial factor. Timber, insulation, roof tiles: everything must be transported safely and efficiently to the roof. That’s why Zolderse Dakprojecten mainly rents Manitou telehandlers. “With a telehandler, you can easily move around the site,” Razvan explains. “A crane is less flexible. When there is no scaffolding, aerial work platforms are scheduled, always with the safest solution for the team as the starting point.”

Something unexpected can happen on any construction site — that’s inevitable. In such cases, it’s crucial that a supplier responds quickly. “If there’s an issue, we’re helped immediately,” says Razvan. “I call Ruud or contact technician Roy directly. He first tries to help over the phone. If that doesn’t work, he comes on site. That gives us a lot of confidence.” A striking example: on one site, a leak on a Manitou MT 625 caused a large oil spill. Razvan contacted TVH Equipment and everything was taken care of in no time, including the fire brigade.

Rental periods range from a few weeks to more than a month, depending on the phase of the project. Razvan is clear about logistics: “Deliveries and off-hire are handled as agreed and keep the planning on track. That’s exactly what we need to keep our teams working smoothly.”

In the sector, he sees two lasting priorities: safety and working efficiently. Electric machines are gaining ground in areas sensitive to noise and emissions, such as residential neighbourhoods — a choice that is assessed per site.

On recent projects, the following machines were deployed:

  • MRT 1845 rotating telehandler (Dilsen-Stokkem)
  • MRT 2150+ and MT 625 H (Heusden-Zolder)
